​The Polaris Project
The Polaris Project at Yukon University is a visionary initiative. Named after the north star, Polaris aims to be a beacon of knowledge, bridging Yukon First Nation culture with western approaches to learning. This new science building, designed by Stantec, will house classrooms, research labs, and social spaces. It emphasizes reconciliation, sustainability, and efficient design. Registered under Zero-Carbon Standard Certification, it will contribute to energy savings and reduced emissions. The facility will be located on the traditional territory of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and the Ta’an Kwäch’än Council. Completion is expected in fall 2026.
